Here is the class list for Spring 2013! Please call the shop to confirm dates/times/details for any classes you are interested in. We require that you purchase the materials at Yarn Cravin’ for the classes you are taking. Some classes have homework.

Beginning Knitting – Sandy
Learn how to knit while making a Sampler Scarf. You will learn to cast on, the knit stitch, the purl
stitch, how to follow a pattern and bind off. Class meets 4 times.

Easy Socks on Circular Needles – Dale Ann
In this class we will be making socks with 2 circular needles. No sock making experience is required. At the end of the three classes, you will have one complete sock. Enthusiastic beginner. Class meets 3 times

Toe Up Socks – Sarah
Try socks from the bottom up! You can tackle this whether you’re familiar with top-down sock construction or if this is your first sock. Learn “Judy’s Magic Cast On” and choose from a few different heel options. We will work from Wendy Johnson’s Socks From the Toe Up. The Toe up technique is great for getting the most out of every skein of sock yarn because you can just keep knitting until you run out of yarn.

This bag is worked in a modular knitting technique and then felted. Use as many colors as you like for this fun eye catching design.

Flower Fun – Laurie
Fabulous flowers to knit and crochet that will add some decorative flair to your latest project. The class includes 5-6 different flowers and leaves that are so quick to stitch you’ll have a blooming bouquet in no time. Great to use on hats, scarves, purses aor lapels.

Fake Isle Hat (stranded colorwork) – Sarah
Let the yarn do most of the hard work! Learn the basics of stranded colorwork as you create this hat that looks much more impressive than the required skill level. Choose yarns with high contrast for best results! Class meets one time.

Entrelac Scarf – Dale Ann
Entrelac is a knitted scarf that looks woven. I suggest a variegated yarn with a long color run such as Zauberball, Noro and Starke. Come see my sample.

Double Knit Blanket – Dale Ann
Have you wanted to try double knitting? This is the project for you. It is simple squares with 2 colors and only 8 skeins of Perfection. It is also possible to scale down to pillow size as well.

Karo Socken (Square Socks) – Laurie
Put a spring in your step with these clever square socks knit from the toe up. Knit with two circular needles and an afterthought heel. You will be amazed at how quickly these knit up!

An eye catching design that can be knit as a scarf or shawl. Knit with sock or lace weight yarn gives it an even more feminine look.

Class Enrollment: We ask that you pre-pay for your class. Please check your calendar carefully before signing up. We will refund your fee if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment. You may call in with a credit card, send a check or stop in to pay for a class. You will not be considered enrolled until you have paid. It is your responsibility to attend all classes in multi session class. No refund will be given for missed classes.

Class Materials: You receive a 10% discount on class materials. We do require that you purchase the materials at Yarn Cravin’ for the classes you are taking. Each instructor has supplied a list of materials needed, as well as any homework that needs to be completed before your class. Please bring basic knitting supplies to class. (Scissors, stitch markers, tapestry needle, tape measure, etc.)

Class Cancellation: We will do our best to reschedule classes cancelled due to poor weather conditions. Please call ahead if the weather is questionable.
