Knitting Classes

Beginning Knitting – Sandy
Learn to knit while you make a very attractive scarf. You will learn to cast on, knit, purl and bind off all while learning to read a pattern. Each class meets 4 times and you will have homework.

Knitting 101 – Sandy
This class is great for the beginning knitter and more experienced alike, or maybe just as a refresher. In this class you will learn about weights of yarns, fiber contents, reading labels, patterns plus more. Also, some hands-on knitting for different cast-ons, bind-offs, -increases and decreases.

Socks on 2 Circs – Dale Ann
Have you always admired the beautiful sock yarn we have but thought you couldn’t possibly make socks? Well, this class is for you! If you can knit and purl, you can make socks. Learn how to in this class using 2 circular needles. Socks are fun to make and wonderful to wear. This class meets 3 times with varying times so put them in your calendar carefully.

Knitting the Heel – Dale Ann
Have you knitted socks before and need a refresher on the heel flap through the gusset? This is a class designed for you! Come in with a sock that is ready to start the heel.

Brioche Cowl – Leigh Ann
Learn the Brioche stitch in two colors while knitting in the round on this cozy cowl.
Saturday Jan. 21; 3-5

Brioche Hat – Leigh Ann
Continue your lesson in brioche by learning to cast on as well as decreasing in the stitch. Learn 2 color (Italian) tubular cast on. This is an intermediate skill level class.

Flower Fun – Laurie
Fabulous flowers to knit and crochet that will add some decorative flair to your latest project. The class includes 5-6 different flowers and leaves that are so quick to stitch you’ll have a blooming bouquet in no time. Great to use on hats, scarves, purses or lapels.

Knitting Technique Classes!!
These classes were designed to increase your knitting skills. Each class only meets one time.

“On the Charts” – Leigh Ann
Learn to read charts and compare the chart to your knitting. You will also learn to check for mistakes and how a chart can help you plan your knitting.

Stitch Fixes – Leigh Ann
Learn 3 different ways to save your stitches while fixing mistakes in your knitting. This class requires some homework so be sure to allow enough time to complete before class.

Read your Knitting – Leigh Ann
Play a mystery match game in which you match samples to written directions. Learn to look at a knit article and determine how they are constructed. Also, useful for checking your work for mistakes.

Steeking – Leigh Ann
Have you always wondered about or been afraid to try steeking? In this class you will try the technique on a small knitted piece that you bring to class. Steeks are used so that you can knit in the round without interruption, therefore making it easier and often quicker to knit a cardigan and more.

Seaming your Knits – Leigh Ann
Learn how to do the Mattress Stitch to assemble a knit garment and how to sew a sleeve cap to the front and back of a garment.

Pick It Up: Picking up stitches & buttonholes – Leigh Ann
Learn how to pick up stitches along a variety of edges. Two techniques for forming buttonholes will also be covered.

Crochet Classes

Stash Buster Crochet Baskets – Laurie
A quick and easy project to use up all those extra skeins of yarn. Great for holding all those work- in- process projects.Learn basic crochet while creating some unique baskets with handles of your choice.

Tunisian Crochet Washcloth – Laurie
Tunisian crochet is a deceptively easy technique that is a little bit crochet, a little bit knitting and looks like weaving. The resulting fabric is quite thick and spongy making it a perfect choice for washcloths, potholders, cushions and more.

Class Enrollment:
All classes must be paid for in advance. Class sizes are limited and to secure your spot it must be paid for. It is your responsibility to attend all classes in a multi session class. No refund will be given for missed classes. We will refund your fee if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment.

Class Materials:
We require that all class materials be purchased at Yarn Cravin’. You will receive a 10% discount on class supplies. Each teacher has supplied a list of required materials as well as any homework needed to be completed before your class. Please bring basic knitting supplies to all classes. (scissors, stitch markers, chibi, tape measure, etc.)
